ITV police Series The Bill

The Bill has been on our screens for 25 years and in 2009 has moved to a post-watershed time slot.  This has given it the opportunity to get darker and grittier.  The show’s them was revamped at the same time and the production given a glossier look.

The show is broadcast each Tuesday at 9.00pm and each episode lasts for an hour.  It has a main plank in the ITV schedule.

The Bill’s 25th anniversary

The police drama celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, continuing to deliver intelligent, compelling and topical drama to peak audiences of over 6 million.  Unique in always telling the narrative from the police point of view, The Bill will maintain its reputation for telling stories with integrity about its blue collar heroes and the challenges they face, digging deeper than ever before into the reality of policing the streets of modern Britain.

Peter Fincham ITV Director of Television

Peter Fincham, ITV’s Director of Television said "I’m delighted to announce The Bill’s transition to weekly 9pm drama on ITV1. It’s a fantastic opportunity to take the series to another level, marking a new era for one of the most established brands on British television."

Lorraine Heggessey

Lorraine Heggessey, CEO, added: “This is a huge vote of confidence from ITV in the show and is a genuine first on UK television. We are incredibly proud of the show and we look forward to embracing the new opportunities this will bring.”

The Bill crew

The Bill’s crew is:

Superintendent Jack Meadows, DI Neil Manson, DS Max Carter, DC Mickey Webb, DC Terry Perkins, DC Stevie Moss, DC Grace Dasari, DC Jacob Banks, DC Jo Masters, Inspector Dale Smith, Sargeant callum Stone, PC Roger Valentine, PC Leon Taylor, PC Mel Ryder, PC Nate Roberts, PC Benjamin Gayle, PC Kirsty Knight and Eddie Olosunje.
