ITV has announced that they have commissioned new series of Scott & Bailey, Monroe, Vera and Case Sensitive.

15/06/2011 : Whitechapel starts filming. Principal photography begins today on the new 6 x 60” series of Whitechapel, The drama written by Ben Court and Caroline Ip is produced by Carnival Films for ITV 1 and stars Rupert Penry-Jones, Phil Davis and Steve Pemberton.

17/05/2011 : Sherlock filming

Kidnap & Ransom. ITV has announced it has commissioned a second series of Kidnap and Ransom starring Trevor Eve as international hostage negotiator, Dominic King.  Although filmed once again in South Africa, the dramatic thread for the story will be King dealing with a situation in Kashmir, India.   His hostages become embroiled in the siege of a tourist coach and Dominic faces the challenge of negotiating for the safety of a multi-national group of people, battling against the intervention of the Indian police and trying to get to the source of the kidnappers’ motives.

24/04/2011 : Doctor Who 6.5m viewers. Despite the beautiful weather, Doctor Who achieved 6.5 million viewers for the first episode of the new series.

20/04/2011 : Elisabeth Sladen dies. The actress Elisabeth Sladen who played Sarah Jane Smith in the BBC show Doctor Who has died.  She was aged 63 and had been fighting cancer.

She appeared alongside three actors who played the Doctor: Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and David Tennant.  She first appeared on the programme in 1973 and starred in her own spin-off show “The Sarah Jane Adventures”.

31/03/2011 : New series of DCI Banks. ITV and Left Bank Pictures announce the start of principal photography for a brand new series of DCI Banks.  The six hour-long episodes will be filmed on location in Leeds following the success of the two-part special that was screened last year.

30/03/2011 : BBC plans second series of Silk. The BBC has announced that it has recommissioned the legal series Silk.

14/03/2011 : Waking The Dead Returns. Waking The Dead picked up just under six million viewers for the first episode of their last series.

11/03/2011 : Monroe starts well.

The new series Monroe started well for ITV with an average six million viewers.

09/03/2011 : Law & Order UK does well.  The first episode of the new series got 6.4 million viewers.

07/03/2011 : Waking The Dead final series. Waking The Dead returns for its final run beginning on Sunday, 13th March with new character DS Cavendish.

06/03/2011 : Downton Filming. Principal filming for the new series of Downton Abbey has begun.

03/03/2011 : ITV commissions third series of Whitechapel.  ITV has confirmed that it has commissioned a new series of three stories told over six 60-minute episodes that echo back 300 years to the days of body-snatching.

26/02/2011 :  Law & Order UK returns. Law & Order UK starts a fourth series on Monday, 7th March 2011.

25/02/2011 :  South Riding starts well. The BBC drama South Riding started well with 6.6 million viewers for its first episode on Sunday 20th February
